ARIA-CCQO at G7 for Culture

The cultural sector is undergoing many changes and artists and other workers in the performing arts sector face many challenges. There is an urgent need to use these challenges as opportunities, by rethinking the relationship between artists and the labour market, in order to allow the leading players in the cultural sector to contribute to the strengthening of culture as an instrument of international dialogue and inclusive and sustainable growth.
The conference promoted by the Teatro della Toscana provides the chance to reflect on these issues, starting with the theatre sector, thus also making a contribution to the aims and considerations of the G7 Culture.
The event presents best practices and methodologies adopted by a range of international institutions, analysing critical strengths and weaknesses, strategies and instruments that might be shared internationally. Experts and practitioners from the theatre sector will discuss three crucial issues: changes in the labour market in the theatre sector, new training and production practices and the instruments adopted, and possible strategies for facing the challenges of the present.
