Mirjam van Tilburg

Mirjam van Tilburg just finished her PhD at the Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts and the University of Antwerp (ARIA). ‘Studies in kunstvakidiotie’ is the doctoral research of Mirjam van Tilburg. This is a study in arts education from within the arts. She tries to shift the dominant image of life-long-learning (LLL) and provide insight into the possibilities that this LLL space also provides to art teachers.

Mirjam van Tilburg is a researcher and lecturer at the Master of Arts Education at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg. She is trained as a fine artist and educator and resides in Rotterdam. She teaches, observes, reflects, writes, and does research in art education.
