Lisa De Roeck

Lisa De Roeck (she/her, 1992) is a PhD researcher at the Politics and Public Governance (PPG) research group at the University of Antwerp and a member of the Culture Commons Quest Office. Her research is part of the European research project ‘Conflict in Transformations’ (CONTRA). In her research, she studies the presence and handling of urban conflicts using various methods, including dramaturgical analysis. Additionally, she focuses on how theatre-based methods, as well as cultural semi-public spaces, can foster a constructive engagement with contention and tensions in society.  She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Ghent. Previously, she worked outside the academic world as a policy advisor at a women’s rights organization and as a research and policy analyst at a children’s rights organization.
